Riken Keiki Co., Ltd. (Head office: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce the launch of the AC-2S Series (AC-2S/AC-2S Pro α/AC-2S
Pro β) atmospheric photoelectron yield spectrometers.

In the 35 years since the launch of the first AC-1 system, the AC Series has continued to meet the requirements of researchers in the field of materials research. With the world striving to achieve decarbonization, the growing use of and interest in hydrogen energy and renewable energy have generated unprecedented demand for the rapid development of high-performance materials.
To meet this demand, Riken Keiki has developed the AC-2S Series to spread the use of atmospheric photoelectron yield spectrometers and spur new value creation.

【Features】
<AC-2S>
 ・Allows easy sample measurement in the atmosphere without the need for producing a vacuum, allowing
  faster measurement of more samples.
 ・Reduced size and weight (approx. 21 % smaller footprint and 38 % lighter than the previous model)

<AC-2S Proα >
 ・Features a new laser-driven light source (LDLS) offering longer service life (approx. ten times longer than the previous model) and
  high light intensity (2,500 nW).
 ・Allows measurement for powder samples requiring high light intensity and materials requiring low energy measurement
   (measurement down to 2.0 eV).
 ・Incorporates a heater for measurements at temperatures up to 100 °C for evaluations of temperature-dependent changes in
  material characteristics.

<AC-2S Proβ >
 ・Features a new laser-driven light source (LDLS) offering longer service life (approx. ten times longer than the previous model).
 ・Allows small spot (not larger than 0.4 mm square) measurements of semiconductors and other small-sized materials.
 ・Incorporates a heater for measurements at temperatures up to 100 °C for evaluations of temperature-dependent changes in
  material characteristics.

【Applications】
 Use in Electronic device industry, energy industry, research institutes, universities, etc.

【Launch】
 April 16, 2021

【Scheduled ship date】
 End of July 2021
